In the valley beneath Beauty Peak a lake of clear and cool water so pure and green that it could accurately reflect the cliffs and ridges above. When slight breeze blows by, tiny ripples materialize across the surface. As you circumvent the lake along the foothills, large expanses of sequoia, rhododendron forests and scores of intriguing rocks come into view, forming an exquisite landscape painting in which water connects with mountains blanketed in verdant vegetation. On the opposite side of the lake is the Red Rock Slope, on which patches of red rocks appear like giant rubies laid on a field of grass. This vista of mountains enveloping waters and mountains hovering above waters is surely one that will put anyone in an intoxicated state of mind.
